Palm Sunday Responsive Reading

Reader:    Jesus came to Jerusalem and the people waved Palm branched and laid their clothing in the road and cried

Congregation:    Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

Reader:    Blessed is the kingdom that cometh

Congregation:    The kingdom of our father David: Hosanna in the highest.

Reader:    Lift up your heads, O ye gates;

Congregation:    And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors: And the King of glory will come in.

Reader:    Who is the King of glory?

Congregation:    Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle.

Reader:    The children were crying in the temple and saying,

Congregation:    Blessed is the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

Reader:    And some of the Pharisees said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.

Congregation:    And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.

Reader:    I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star.

Congregation:    And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come.

Reader:    And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely.

Congregation:    Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his appearing.

                                                    Maranatha!  Come, Lord Jesus!  Hallelujah!
